You can also take a cruise on the St. Lawrence River, you will see the Old Port, St. Helen’s Island and the unspoiled landscape of the Boucherville Islands.

Collect your RV and begin your road trip!  Stay two nights in the Saint Alexis du Mont area.

Enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities in this beautiful area, hiking, helicopter rides, canoeing, kayaking, bear watching, horse riding and wildlife viewing. Spend your time in Maurice National Park and the Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve. The area is also known for its local festivals and has some great local shops and boutiques. 

Stay one night in the Riviere du Loup area.

Head along the St. Lawrence River to this city which is set on a terrace above the coastal plain and has an appealing and distinctive Quebecois atmosphere. The town has a rich architectural heritage dating back to the 19th century, when it was a popular resort destination for big-city dwellers. Take an excursion around the islands in the St. Lawrence to go bird watching or hiking or to visit a lighthouse. You can also enjoy a whale-watching excursion from here.

Stay one night in the Baie des Chaleurs area

Enjoy the scenery of the Gaspe Peninsula which lies at the inlet to the Gulf of St. Lawrence between northern New Brunswick and Quebec. The town was discovered by Jacques Cartier in 1534 and is a famous fishing ground for cod, herring, mackerel and salmon. There are many Acadian fishing villages on its shores.

Stay two nights in the Perce area.

As you travel along the coast you will pass Port Daniel a community of Scottish, Acadian and Irish descent. From the Cote de Surprise highway by the small fishing port of L’Anse a Beaufils you will have a magnificent view of Perce Bay and Perce Rock. Stay two nights in Perce. Take a discovery cruise of the majestic Perce Rock and the seabird sanctuary on Bonaventure Island. Approximately 300,000 seabirds nest here, including razor-billed auks, gulls, kittiwakes, murres, cormorants, arctic puffins and gannets. This is the second largest gannet colony in the world.

Stay two nights in the Parc de la Gaspesie area.

As you pass the eastern tip of the peninsula, take some time to visit Forillon National Park with its towering cliffs and the lighthouse at Pointe au Pere National Historic Site. Look at the wild roses on Cap des Rosiers and stop at Gros Morne to admire the views. Continue to the mountainous Parc de la Gaspesie. With peaks of over 1,000 metres the park is the only place in Quebec where caribou, moose and whitetailed deer co-exist. Enjoy hiking, canoeing, mountain biking or take a guided nature tour.

Stay two nights in the Tadoussac area.

Today you will drive to Tadoussac, taking the ferry across the St. Lawrence. Visit some of the small towns on the way which are well known for their artwork and wood carving. Stay two nights in Tadoussac which is famous for its whales. A whale watching cruise on the St. Lawrence River is a must. 

Stay one night in the Baie Saint Paul area.

Spend the day in the Charlevoix region visit the Parc National des Haute Gorges with its beautiful scenery and take a boat trip or hike or take a trip across the the Isle aux Coudres in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Baie Saint Paul a quaint town which is well known for its art galleries. If you have more time we would recommend an extra night here.

Spend two nights in the Quebec City area.

Spend the time exploring North America’s only walled city. Visit the Plains of Abraham, the Citadel, Upper and Lower towns, the Notre Dame Basilica, the National Assembly and Parliament Buildings. In the evening enjoy walking through the narrow streets with their interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.
